What You Need to Register

A few things to have ready before you start.

🆗
A Vehicle Pass
Buy one pass per vehicle at goldgarusa.com/products/vehicle-pass. Homeowners pay once; renters pay yearly.
📄
Driver's License
A clear photo of your Florida driver's license. The address on it should match where you live in the community.
🚗
Vehicle Registration
Your Florida vehicle registration showing the plate, make, model, year, and color.
Renters: bring your lease
If you rent your home, also have a copy of your current lease ready.
Your car vs. a guest's car
A Vehicle Pass covers your own car parked here regularly. A Guest Pass is separate and lets you safelist short-term visitors. For a rental car while yours is in the shop, see temporary vehicles below.

How to Register a Vehicle

Four simple steps from start to permit.

1
Create your account
Go to goldgarusa.com/pages/create-account and fill in your name, address, contact info, and upload a photo of your driver's license. Renters also upload a copy of their lease.
Only one account per address. If someone in your household already has an account, share it β€” don't create a new one.
2
Buy a Vehicle Pass
Each Vehicle Pass opens one spot in your account for one car. Buy a pass at goldgarusa.com/products/vehicle-pass. Need to register more than one car? Buy as many passes as cars, up to your community's limit.
3
Enter your vehicle info
Open My Account, tap an open spot, and enter your make, model, year, color, and plate. Upload a photo of your vehicle registration and submit.
4
Wait for approval
Our team reviews your submission within 1–2 business days. Once approved, your dashboard shows a permit number, and your physical permit sticker is mailed to your address. Display it on your vehicle whenever you park in the community.
Lost or damaged permit? You can request a replacement from your dashboard. Replacement permits are $25.

What We Look For

We check two things: that you live where you say you live, and that the car you're registering belongs to your household.

👤
You & Your Address
From your driver's license we confirm:
  • The name matches the account you created
  • The address matches your community address
  • It's a valid, unexpired ID
Just moved and your license still shows the old address? You may qualify for a 60-day extension β€” see below.
🚗
Your Vehicle
From your vehicle registration we confirm:
  • The plate, make, model, and year match what you entered
  • The registration is current
  • The car belongs to someone in your household
Wrong info on the document? You can resubmit an updated copy from your dashboard.
🔒
Your documents are private
Driver's licenses and registrations you upload are stored privately and deleted as soon as our team makes a decision. They're never kept long-term or shared with anyone else.

What Happens Next

After you submit, our team reviews your request and lets you know one of three things.

Approved
Your documents checked out and you're good to go.
  • Your vehicle shows up on your dashboard as Approved
  • You receive a permit number
  • Your physical permit sticker is mailed to you
  • Your uploaded documents are deleted
60-Day Extension
Your address doesn't match your driver's license yet because you recently moved. We give you a 60-day window to update it.
  • Your dashboard shows a clear deadline
  • Update your driver's license with Florida's DMV and upload it again before the deadline
  • Miss the deadline and your registration may be removed
Not Approved
Something on your documents didn't check out.
  • You'll see the reason on your dashboard
  • Fix the issue and submit again
  • Think we made a mistake? You can appeal from the dashboard
  • Common reasons: expired registration, wrong address on license, blurry photo, car not in your household name
Just moved? You have 60 days.
Florida law gives drivers 30 days to update the address on their license after a move. We extend that to 60 days. Update your license with the Florida DMV and upload the new copy from your dashboard before the deadline.

What the Cards Mean

Each card on your dashboard is one parking spot. Here's what the colors and labels mean.

A spot your community allows but you haven't bought a pass for yet. Buy a pass to unlock it.
🏠
Community Limit
Every community has a maximum number of vehicles per home. Your dashboard always shows your specific limit.

When Things Expire

Two things expire on different timelines: your Goldgar permit and your Florida tag. Here's what to know.

🆗
Homeowners
Your Goldgar permit doesn't expire as long as you own the home.
Lost your sticker? Buy a $25 renewal and request a replacement from your dashboard.
📅
Renters
Your Vehicle Pass is good for one year. When it ends, your registration becomes inactive.
Buy a new Vehicle Pass before yours expires to keep your spot active.
🚗
Florida Tag
Your Florida tag (the year sticker on your plate) renews on its own schedule with the DMV.
After you renew at the DMV, update the new expiration date on your dashboard. It only takes a moment — no review needed.

Getting a Replacement Permit

Lost, stolen, or damaged permit? Here's how to get a new one.

1
Buy a $25 renewal
Purchase the Vehicle Pass Renewal. This covers the cost of a new permit.
2
Report it from your dashboard
Tap the vehicle's card and choose the option to report a permit issue. Submit and our team will review.
3
Receive your new permit
Once approved, your dashboard updates with the new permit number, and the new sticker ships to your address. Throw away the old one.
🚫
Don't display old or voided permits
Once a permit is replaced, the old sticker isn't valid anymore. Displaying it can lead to a parking violation. Remove and destroy old permits as soon as you get the new one.

Updating Your Vehicle

Life changes, and cars do too. Here's how to handle common updates after you're registered.

🔄
Replace your vehicle
Sold or traded your car? Open the existing vehicle's actions and choose Replace. Enter the new car's info and upload its registration. Requires a $25 renewal first.
🆑
Update your plate
Same car, new plate? Choose Update plate from the vehicle's actions, enter the new plate, and submit. No renewal needed.
📄
Resubmit documents
Need to upload a corrected or updated registration? Choose Resubmit documents from the vehicle's actions and attach the new file.
🗑
Removing a vehicle

Sold the car or simply don't need the spot anymore? You can remove a vehicle yourself — no review needed.

  • Open the vehicle's actions and choose Remove
  • The vehicle is removed right away and the spot opens up
  • The permit sticker for that car is no longer valid — remove and destroy it
Removing is immediate and can't be undone. To register a new car in that spot, you'll go through the regular steps again.
Renewal needed for two actions
Replacing a vehicle and replacing a lost/damaged permit each require a one-time $25 renewal purchase first. This covers the cost of issuing the new permit.

Temporarily Park a Different Car

Is your car in the shop and you're driving a rental? You can temporarily safelist the rental on top of your registered vehicle — no extra pass needed.

🚗
How it works
The rental car is added under your existing vehicle for as long as our team approves. When your own car is back, you can remove the rental yourself from your dashboard.
1
Submit from your dashboard
Tap the card of the vehicle that's in the shop, choose the option to add a temporary vehicle, and enter the rental's plate, make, model, year, and color. Upload a copy of your rental agreement.
2
Wait for approval
Our team reviews and sets an end date based on your rental period. The rental shows up under your main vehicle on your dashboard.
3
Remove it when you're done
When your own car is back, return to your dashboard and remove the rental yourself. No need to ask anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on your community's rules and your home type. Each community has a maximum number of vehicles per home. Your dashboard always shows your remaining capacity. You can't exceed the community maximum no matter how many passes you buy.
Most requests are reviewed within 1–3 business days. More complex cases may take a little longer. Your dashboard updates the moment a decision is made — no need to call or email to check.
Check the reason shown on your dashboard. Most denials are easy fixes — a blurry photo, expired registration, or address mismatch. Fix it, remove the denied entry, and submit again. If you think the denial was a mistake, you can appeal it from the vehicle's actions menu.
Yes — as long as the family member lives with you. The car has to belong to someone in your household. For visitors who don't live at the property, use the Guest Parking page instead.
Open your dashboard, go to Profile, and submit an address change request. Your existing vehicles stay active while we review. Once the new address is approved, your account updates. Florida law also requires you update your driver's license within 30 days of a move.
If a renter's Vehicle Pass lapses, the vehicle stops being recognized as registered, and parking enforcement won't see it as a resident car. To get back on the list, buy a new pass and go through the steps again. We strongly recommend renewing before expiration to avoid any gaps.
Yes — your record should always show your current tag expiration. Open your dashboard, tap the vehicle, and choose the option to update your tag expiration. Enter the new date from your renewed registration. No review needed.
Yes. Leased and financed cars can be registered — just submit the registration document as-is. We know it usually lists the leasing company or lender. The only thing required is that your name appears on it as the driver or lessee.
